The Deputy Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Bernice Adiku-Heloo, on Saturday commissioned an Organic Kitchen and Natural Remedies Centre at North Legon, in a short but colourful ceremony.
Located at No.7 Kofi Annan ‘C’ adjacent Rainbow Early Childhood School, the facility boasts of remedies for ailments like hypertension, asthma and diabetics, among others.
In a remark to officially inaugurate the centre, Dr Adiku-Heloo stated that the centre would provide special care not only in terms of quality organic foods but also in terms of educating Ghanaians on how to keep themselves healthy at all time.
According to her, the country is witnessing the sale of food products she described as ‘junked foods onto the market.”
She stated that there is the need for Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of eating meals prepared at home and bring an end to the patronage of street foods.
A Clinical Nutritionist and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Organic Kitchen and Natural Remedies, Ms Yvonne Bulley, in a statement lamented that many Ghanaians continue to suffer and die from sicknesses as a result of failure on their part to take in diets free of chemicals.
With the establishment of the centre, the nutritionist with over 30 years of working experience said, Ghana would have the opportunity to learn healthy living.
“We prepare only dishes like brown rice that are chemical-free and that which have been scientifically proven to be natural cure for many sicknesses such as asthma, cancer and hypertension”, adding, “We will provide health education and massage services to everyone interested.
