Information available to peacefmonline.com indicates that voting has been halted in the Eastern Region and at the party’s headquarters.
According to our reporter in the region, Michael Akrofi, the confusion is as a result of proxy voting.
A similar situation has panned out at the party’s National Headquarters in Accra, reports UTV’s Prince Ahenkan who is at the scene. For nearly half an hour, none of the party agents representating the 7 aspirants were prepared to give in.
The various agents insistedvthe delegates bring their proxy letters before they are allowed to partake in the exercise.
A timely intervention by the Nima Police Command helped avert possible chaos.
Meanwhile, voting has commenced in other regions.
