RSUST, RIVPOLY, NURSS Laud Abe’s Educational Initiatives


Authorities of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Rivers State Polytechnic, and National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) have commended the Lawmaker representing Rivers South-East, Senator Magnus Abe, for initiating educational support schemes for students of the senatorial district.

The Dean, Students’ Affairs, RSUST, Professor Friday Segalo, Rector, RIVPOLY, Sir Obianko Worlu-Elechi and NURSS President, Comrade Mazi Lucky, gave the commendation in their goodwill messages at the 3rd edition of Abe’s annual school fee support for indigent final year students of the district, held at Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area of the state.

Segalo, who described Abe as one of the best senators in the country, urged people of the senatorial district to support every project of the senator so that his potentials would be brought to bear.

He said, “Senator Magnus Abe is one of the best senators in this country. Some of the students may not understand what the senator has done for them, but one thing is clear; what Senator Abe has done today will remain evergreen in our mind. We must support every of his project and allow his potentials to come forth.”

Also speaking, Rector, Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, Worlu-Elechi, disclosed that, though the Rivers South-East senatorial district has had senators, Abe remains the only one that has demonstrated commitment to putting the people first

“Senator Abe is doing well and some of us are following his activities in the Senate. The senator’s angle of human capital development is very important; it will make the people independent in the future. We have had senators but Abe has demonstrated that he is indeed thinking about his people.” He stated.

In his solidarity message, the President, National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS), Comrade Mazi Lucky, thanked the Senator for investing in education and pledged the readiness of the students in the State to continue to support him.

Mazi said, “Distinguished Senator, I want to thank you for investing in education. You have affected the lives of the people of Rivers South-East Senatorial District. We appreciate what you have done for students in the senatorial district and Rivers State in general. For taking students seriously, students will take you seriously. Whenever you call, we will answer you”.

On his part, the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Chief Victor Giadom expressed gratitude to Abe for all he has done for the people of the senatorial district, pointing out that the senator is top of all the seven senators that had represented the district based on his programmes and accessibility.
