John Mahama: Presidency is ‘stressful job’

President John Mahama has told congregants of an Assemblies of God church in Springfield USA that his job is taking a toll on him.

“It’s a very stressful job, but knowing that God guides your steps and you have a family like the Assemblies of God behind you really is a comfort,” the President told the congregation at the Assemblies of God Centennial celebration.

The centenary celebration of the church coincided with the three-day U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington DC that started Tuesday – which the President had participated in.

President Mahama, who is a member of the Assemblies of God church, said in spite of the many challenges facing Ghana’s economy, he was hopeful of a turnaround in due course.

He said his faith gave him “the confidence to go forward.”

Speaking about the deadly Ebola virus the President said the country was “prepared, and indeed we’ve been working on our national response actively.”
