It would be recalled that Dr Kenneth Nwosu was driving home (at Olokoro in Umuahia South local government) when he was attacked by a group of gunmen in a Toyota Camry, who opened fire on him on the lonely road. After shooting sporadically for some time, the criminals fled the scene in an unknown direction.

As Nwosu was badly injured at his intestines and femur, he was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was struggling for his life for six difficult days. Nwosu’s death was announced by Commissioner for information and strategy, Eze Chikamnayo at a press conference on Tuesday, July 15.

Chikamnayo described the late commissioner as “a colossus and the best hand in agriculture”, stressing out that the death of Dr Nwosu was a sad moment for the government and the entire people of Abia state.
