Black Stars goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey, has blamed the country football authorities for the team’s chaotic World Cup campaign culminating in its early exit.
The players boycotted training in the build- up to their final Group G match against Portugal because of unpaid appearance fees.
It took the intervention of President John Dramani Mahama before the players decided to board the flight to Brasilia, the match venue, from their camp base in Maceio.
Then midfielder Muntari was reported to have physically attacked a member of the Black Stars management committee, Moses Armah.
He was later sent home for violent conduct while Kevin Prince Boateng was also expelled for what the Ghana FA described as “vulgar verbal attack on the coach without showing remorse.”
Kwarasey in an interview after Ghana’s 1-2 defeat to Portugal admitted the off-the-field issues distracted the team but blamed authorities for the poor campaign.
“We have always had problems in camp but this was way too much,” the Stromsgodset captain said.
“Authorities should look into this, I feel we were not properly treated and that led to all the misunderstandings.
When there is a problem you look at where it started not where it ended.”, he argued.
