Security expert hints of violence in Chireponi

A security expert working with SEND-Ghana, an NGO, has warned of possible outbreak of violence in Chireponi in the Northern Region.

Dan Kansaki’s caution comes in the wake of a chieftaincy dispute in Bimbilla in the same region that has claimed the lives of five persons including the overlord of in Bimbilla, Naa Dasana Andani.

According to the peace building officer, the already volatile situation has been exacerbated by the enskinment of two rival chiefs by the paramount chief of Yendi.

Dan Kansaki said attempts to alert security officials about the impending implosion in the area has been extremely difficult.

Meanwhile a security analyst, Isaac Bayor is worried about the politicization of conflicts in northern Ghana.

He said the phenomenon has thwarted efforts to restore peace to some communities experiencing conflicts in the area.

Bayor, the national coordinator of the West African Network for Peace Building in Ghana says it is important politicians avoid scoring political points with conflicts in some communities and rather assist in resolving them.
