Unity Rural Bank opens new Ho office with scholarship awards to needy students

The Unity Rural Bank has opened a new branch in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.

The opening of the new branch is part of a strategy by the company to increase accessibility and convenience to the many customers.

The ceremony was also to present scholarships to some brilliant but needy pupils from some selected less endowed schools in the Ho Municipality and Agotime District.

The General Manager of the Unity Rural Bank Seraphim Senyo Hinidzah said the rationale for combining the two major events together- opening of new office and scholarship- “is purely for convenience sake”.

Some 15 students benefited from the scholarship scheme.

Senyo Hinidzah said the scholarship scheme  “is part of our corporate social responsibility strategy aimed at giving maximally back to society whatever value we have generated.”

“We identify education as the bedrock of any modern society and most importantly as means of eliminating poverty from least developed societies such as ours,” he added.

On the opening of the new branch, the General Manager said “in line with this mission, we have chosen the path of increased accessibility, visibility, convenience and improved service quality as a special reward to all clients both active and potential. This chosen pathway has culminated in what we are gathered here to witness today- the official opening of the Ho Main Branch.”

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank Torgbui Binah Lawluvi said the opening of the new branch is another milestone for the company.

“As a Bank, it is our strategic direction to take care of the pressing needs of our immediate environment. We are doing this with all sense of humility believing our humble seeds sown today will grow to become mighty solutions to the myriad of problems confronting our society today.

Torgbui Lawluvi request of you all to invest in Unity Rural Bank to enable it reach its fullest potential.

“To our loan defaulting customers, we would like to appeal to you to make good your commitments to us to avoid unnecessary legal actions,” he cautioned.
