About 30 young women from three clustered nomadic settlement have been abducted on Thursday, June 5, by suspected Islamist Boko Haram group near Chibok.

The gunmen stormed the villages of Bakin Kogi, Garkin Fulani and Rugar Hardo along Damboa road in Chibok local government seized the women, ordered them into vehicles at gunpoint and drove them off to an unknown location. The kidnappers left the old men and women behind.
Residents said the Fulani men – who were away tending to their cows when the attack occurred – have gone on wide mobilization to reclaim their women, The Nation reports.
“We got the information that they went there, and took away the women at the time none of the males were there,” a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria Alhaji Tar said, confirming the incident in a phone interview.
“The three young men they met there could not help the women, as the gunmen also ordered the three of them to enter the Hilux vans, and took all of them away,” he added.
It will be recalled that more than 200 schoolgirls have been abducted by Boko Haram on April 15. Some of them escaped while the majority remain missing.
