High School Builds Medical Centre

The facility under construction, INSET: Students of Kumasi High School donating blood

RESIDENTS OF Gyinyasi and its nearby communities in Kumasi will have easy access to a new medical centre which is being financed by the Old Students Association of Kumasi High School, also known as Mmerantee.

Started in January 2013, the sick bay which is currently at the roofing level, expected to be completed in September 2014, forms part of activities marking the school’s 50 years anniversary.

The cash incentive project, upon completion, could be accessed by students of the school and residents of Gyinyasi.

The President of Mmerantee, Peter Owusu- Mensah, said the sick bay is the old boys’ contribution to boost healthcare at Gyinyasi.

He was speaking when Mmerantee organised a blood donation exercise as part of series of activities marking the school’s 50 years existence.

Mr Owusu-Mensah said Mmerantee organised the blood donation exercise in collaboration with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Blood Bank, to help save precious lives.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Michael Oppong-Yeboah, commended the Mmerantee for their immense help and thanked them for organising the blood donation exercise to help save human lives.
