AYC qualifiers: Ghana survive Sierra Leone scare

Ghana’s U-20 male national team, Black Satellites defeated their Sierra Leonean counterpart by two goals to one at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Saturday to secure a place in the last round of the qualifying for the 2015 Africa Youth Championship (AYC).

Ishmael Camara scored for Sierra Leoneans on the 35 minute to scare the Selas Tetteh boys, but they overturned the score line to win by two goals to one.

Ghana got the equalizer with two minutes to end proceedings in the first half through through George Agyepong.

Back from recess, Latif Abubakar fetched the Black Satellites the match winner with just nine minutes into the game.

Ghana will now join fourteen teams in the final stage of qualifying to compete for the seven slots available at next year’s finals to be hosted by Senegal.
