The Ghana Red Cross Society, world-wide humanitarian organization providing benevolent support without discrimination as to nationality, race, color, religion, sex and language seeks to raise fund in support of fortifying the services to humanity.
In an interview with Mr. Eric Asamoah Darko, the regional manager of the Accra zone of the organization said ‘’ for the past four years, the health post of the society was not able to operate as excepted due to privation of funds’’.
In order to toughen and diminish casualties’ in the accident prone areas on our roads, the society in collaboration with the national road safety commission has target some specific highways such as Accra to Aflao, Accra to Kumasi, Accra to Cape coast and Accra to Tema respectively – he added.
The suppose budget for the project is forty-four thousand Ghana cedis.
China Red Cross Society donated an ambulance in support of the project four years back but the vehicle is not functioning due to lack of maintenance and fueling.
The GNP percentage cost which was verified by the building and road research institute in 2006, justified the need for comprehensive and sustainable investment I road safety management.
Mr. Eric Asamoah Darko pleaded on the general public to help improve the aim and objectives of Ghana Red Cross Society by supporting the organization either in kind or in cash.
The dinner and fundraising which has attracted some companies like Electricity Company of Ghana, Toyota Ghana Limited, Ghana Revenue Authority, and Daily Graphic comes off on Saturday the 17 day of May 2014 at the Aviation Social Center Accra at exactly 6:00pm.
