Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah admits tough 2015 AFCON draw

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says his side have been handed a tough draw for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars drew Guinea, Togo and a yet-to-be determined opponent in Group E for the eliminators to the finals which will be hosted by Morocco.

Ghana, who have reached the semi-final stage of the Nations Cup since 2008, are tipped dominate the pool.

Both Togo and Guinea could not qualify for the last edition held in South Africa where Ghana finished fourth.

But Appiah says they could in for a shock if they underestimate the firepower of their opponents.

“If you look at African football now, West African countries are doing well and so it is difficult to rule anybody out,” Appiah told Africanfootball.com

“There are no longer small countries and so all we need to do is to prepare well for the challenge.”

The six group matches will be played between September 5 and November 19, 2014.

Seven Group winners, seven Group runners-up and the best third-placed side will qualify for the tournament.
