Doctors at the 37 Military Hospital are expected to operate on the upper left arm of injured Kwabena Agyapong.

Mr Kwabena Agyapong, who is one of the aspirants for the General Secretary position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was on Tuesday involved in a car accident on the Accra-Nsawam road.

He is currently receiving medical treatment at 37 Military Hospital. Doctors say he fractured the mid-shaft of his left arm; which is the bone between the elbow and shoulder.

Aide to Mr Agyepong, Mush Superior told Citi News, Kwabena Agyepong is being given all the needed medical attention. “There is a team of medical experts, including his personal doctor are observing him very closely.’’

‘’He [Mr. Agyepong] is currently on a casual admission at the 37 military hospital,’’ he added.

Mr Agyapong and his entourage were on their way to Kumasi for a press conference as part of the campaign ahead of the NPP’s national delegates’ conference in Tamale on Saturday.

Meanwhile a contender and the incumbent General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, suspended his campaign in solidarity with Mr Agyapong.
