zentel-albendazol-400-mg-1-tabletki-8678.2000x2000The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says it has finally removed all the fake Zentel drug which was on the market from pharmacy shops.

It was reported a month ago that the intestinal dewormer with batch number 390160 which was imported from India and France was fake.

According to Chief Regulatory Officer at the FDA, Agyemang Duah, consumers are no longer at risk.

He gave the assurance that the public is safe because “we’ve done a lot of post market surveillance activity.”

He disclosed to Citi News that the Northern Region, the Upper East, Upper West Regions and the Volta Region had none of the fake Zentel dewormer but “in the other regions, our offices there have been able to do a lot of work to mop-up everything within the system.”

Mr. Duah expressed his appreciation to the general public for volunteering information on the fake drug for recovery by the FDA “and so for now we are sure that the Zentel is not in the system.”
