4Change Initiative collaborates with Utopia-Wishlist to supply water to basic schools


4Change Initiative in collaboration with Utopia-Wishlist has supplied water to Achimota Preparatory School and Omanjor Basic School-Ofankor in Accra.

The supply of water to the two basic schools was part of activities to mark World Water Day which fell on March 22, 2014.

4Change Initiative and Utopia-Wishlists, both NGOs, aims at promoting corporate social responsibility activities in Ghana.

As part of the World Water Day activities, the two NGOs filled water tanks (Polytanks) and provided sachets of water to the selected schools. .

Speaking to the students and staff of the schools, Magnus Rex Danquah II, co-founder of the 4Change Initiative stressed on the need to create awareness about the millions of individuals in countries all over the world who have no access to water.

He further stated that Ghana, like most countries in Africa and parts of Asia, has communities that lack access to clean water, and therefore urged corporate institutions to support such communities in every way possible.

Ami Yomekpe, also a co-founder of 4Change Initiative demonstrated to the students of Omanjor Basic school, the process of filtering unclean water using cloth, charcoal and cotton wool.

She also educated the students on the uses of water and its benefits to the human body.

Members of Utopia-Wishlist taught students how to read, write and spell.

The students were also assisted with their homework.

Magnus Rex Danquah II said, “The 4Change Initiative seeks to make a change in the lives of individuals and communities within Ghana. This initiative is only one out of many initiatives planned for the year. We encourage individuals and companies to assist us bring about positive change in the daily lives of the Ghanaian people”.
