Another Incest Dad Arrested

Samuel Gyamasi
The Nima Police in Accra have arrested a 34-year-old welder for allegedly defiling and consequently impregnating his 13-year -old stepdaughter.

The suspect, Samuel Dzamasi, after allegedly defiling the victim for the first time, continued for more than three months until the victim became pregnant, according to eye witness account.

Information available to DAILY GUIDE indicated that the mother of the victim, Delight Akperlasi, who had divorced the father of the victim, lived with the new husband (being the suspect), the victim and her younger sister at their Kotobabi residence in Accra.

Delight, according to information, worked as a baker at Asylum down, another suburb of Accra, and normally leaves the children in the care of the suspect from Monday to Saturday when she returns from work.

The suspect then took the opportunity to sexually assault the victim until she was discovered pregnant.

Confirming the story to this paper, Superintendent Ebenezer Boryorski, the Nima Divisional Crime Officer, said the victim, together with his younger sister, were living with the father, Simon Kakri at Sokode in the Volta Region schooling after the separation of their parents eight years ago.

Somewhere in September last year while the children were on vacation, Delight, mother of the children, went to Sokode for them to spend the vacation in Accra.

According to information received, the step father took the opportunity of the mother leaving for work on Monday and returning on Saturday night, to allegedly assault the victim until the father of the children sent for them in January this year.

At Sokode, Simon discovered that the daughter was pregnant, and questioned her.

Victim then confessed that the step father had sexual bouts with her while in Accra.

The matter was immediately reported to the Nima police for investigations.

Victim was brought down to Accra and when a test was conducted on her, it revealed that she was 12-week, two days pregnant as of Monday, March 17, 2014.

Police immediately apprehended suspect to help in investigations.

Suspect Samuel, upon interrogation, denied the allegation leveled against him and is currently in custody awaiting trial.

He would be put before court today.
