GH¢10,000 Reward For Tamale Killers’ Informants

The Northern Regional Police Command has promised a bounty of GH¢10,000 for anyone who volunteers information leading to the arrest of the unidentified gunmen who shot and killed Alhassan Naziru at Sagnarigu and another GH¢10,000 for the one who gives out information leading to the arrest of the killers of Mustapha Abdul-Rashid at Aboabo, both suburbs of Tamale.

They have given informants the assurance that identities would be concealed.

In a press statement issued in Tamale late last Friday  and signed by the Northern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Ken Yeboah, he indicated that investigations into the death of the two were ongoing as well  as the arson at Radio Justice, a Tamale based radio station.

DCOP Yeboah appealed to Umar Anyass Gazale, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist who claims to know the killers of Alhassan Naziru to come forward with the information without delay in order for police to effect the arrest of the unnamed persons.

The statement urged residents to go about their normal duties without fear but warned that anyone caught breaching the laws within the metropolis would be dealt with in accordance with the prescribed punitive measures.

It would be recalled that tension enveloped the Tamale Metropolis following the death of one person who was shot by some unknown assailants at Sagnarigu while on his way to visit a friend.

The ripple effect was the murder of one person the same day at Aboabo and the attack on Radio Justice where property were destroyed, further heightening the tension in the city and compelling the reinforcement of armed police personnel from various stations to contain the situation.

The Northern Regional Police Command has assured the populace that the situation is under control and is soliciting information to apprehend those behind the acts which they said undermined the security of the region.
