Vote Them Out … Nyaho-Tamakloe Urges NPP Delegates

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called for a total overhaul of the party’s current national leadership.

He claimed that the performance of the current crop of national executives led by its incurrent chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey have been the worst in the party’s history.

“I have seen different national executives before and when I compared them to the current ones, the difference is too big,” Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said yesterday.

The performance of the current executives, most of whom are seeking re-election has been questioned by many, including the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.

He has accused the executives of being corrupt and self-centered, especially in the run-up to the 2012 electioneering campaign.

Mr. Agyapong has promised to launch a 20-million-dollar campaign against the national executives especially Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey to ensure no one was retained.

In support, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe called on party delegates to vote against all of the current executives at the party’s upcoming congress on April 12, slated in Tamale.

According to him, the NPP may lose the 2016 general elections if the national executives were retained.

“The current national executives should all be voted out. From chairman to the least person so that we will have a new set who will keep the party on its feet,” he stressed.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe was convinced that with a new crop of leadership, the NPP would be a vibrant party to wrestle power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016.
