The much heralded Braimah Kamoko vrs Ayitey Powers fight has of course been sealed and signed but fight fans who can’t wait to see the epic bout have had their wishes granted, AllSports.com.gh can exclusively report that the fight will now happen on April 18, a week earlier than previously announced.
Last Thursday’s signing up ceremony at the Accra Sports Stadium saw both boxers receive token fees to begin immediate preparations for the GH¢40,000 mega fight. In the event, Box Office Sports Promotions CEO, Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye made it clear that the date for the clash had been fixed for Friday April 25 instead of the earlier hinted April 26.
But we are reliably informed that the said date had already been booked by Golden Mike Boxing Promotions, incidentally the immediate past managers and promoters of Bukom Banku, who will stage the IBF Women Featherweight world title clash between Ghana-based Nigerian, Helen Joseph and champion, Santaina of the Dominican Republic. This had already been sanctioned by both the Ghana Boxing Authority and the IBF.
This has prompted Box Office Promotions to move the highly sought-after Bukom Banku versus Ayitey Powers clash to the new date of April 18. AllSports.com.gh understand that Box Office Promotions will issue a press release by Monday to confirm the new date with a press conference to follow.
Unbeaten Kamoko (26-0, 20 KOs) has vowed to teach old nemesis, Powers some hard lessons in the ring before eventually finishing him off in round 7 but the unfazed Powers has replied that he will run away a victor a bit earlier by promising his fans a 6 th stoppage win.
