Jonathan Mensah receives three-match ban


Ghana Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah has been handed a three-match ban for his sending off in the French Ligue 1 game between Evian Thonon Gaillard and Lyon http://allsports.com.gh/2014/01/26/jonathan-mensah-sent-off-in-evian-loss/ . Mensah was sent off from a second bookable offence in the 40 th minute when his Evian side were down by a goal to nil.

The Ghanaian receives his three-match ban from disputing the match-day referee Tony Chapron. A statement from a disciplinary committee read:

“The Disciplinary Committee of the LFP has imposed three-game suspension on the defender of Evian-Thonon-Gaillard Jonathan Mensah who had strongly disputed a warning from the referee in the game against Lyon.”

Evian lost the game on the day by three goals to nil. Bafetimbi Gomis scored the first with Alexandre Lacazette registering a brace to secure a 3-0 victory for Lyon. Follow @@kboakye92 https://twitter.com/@kboakye92
