Kranka (B/A), Feb 4, GNA -Mr Oscar Osei, Assemblyman for Kranka in the Nkoranza North District, has urged parents to invest in the education of their children.
He said parents have to devote greater part of their resources to educate their children for them to reach higher levels in order for them to become responsible leaders of the country.
Mr Osei who was speaking to the people of Kranka in the Nkoranza District, commended them for uniting to support development programmes.
The Assemblyman expressed concern about some brilliant but needy children of the area who were unable to further their education, just because their parents were poor, and pleaded with the Nkoranza North District Assembly to support such children to move the district forward.
The Assemblyman cited the case of a Junior High School (JHS) graduate who obtained aggregate nine in 2013, but could not further the education because his parents could not afford that.
Mr Osei, therefore, appealed to non-governmental organizations (ngos), philanthropists and religious bodies to assist promising but needy students to enable them become responsible future leaders to serve their communities.
He cautioned the youth of the area to refrain from ‘Wee’ smoking, Alcoholism and the taking of other hard drugs, saying such negative practices would have adverse effect on their health.
