Management and staff of UT Bank spent GH¢7,000 to fete staff and students of Akropong School of the Blind on Valentine’s Day as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility.
The staff and students of the Akropong School of the Blind expressed joy after the team from UT Bank, in collaboration with volunteers of the United Way Ghana, Retired Armed Forces Wives Association (RAFOWA), gave the school a face-lift.
The UT Bank team scrubbed the compound and bathrooms of the school, painted most of the school blocks and the staff bungalows and replaced all old mosquito nets with new ones.
The headmistress of the school, Maliela Narh, in an interview with CITY & BUSINESS GUIDE, thanked United Way Ghana and UT Bank and other volunteers for their selflessness and volunteerism.
Sophiah Lissah, Media and Public Relations Manager of UT Group told the paper that UT Bank, as part of its corporate social responsibility, has been supporting several institutions such as Akropong School for the Blind.
She said the bank’s initiative would go a long way to address some of the problems facing the school.
