Ghana: Multimedia Group Predicts Mahama Win

President John Dramani Mahama has been projected to retain the presidency with a first round victory.

The projection came from the Multimedia Group at 7.07am after it said it’s assessment of 261 provisional results from the presidential race puts the president at 50.35 percent while his closest challenger, Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party follows with 48.05 per cent of votes.

With only 14 constituencies outstanding which together hold about 800,000 votes, majority of which constituencies are thought to be sympathetic to the ruling party, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, anchor of Joy FM’s super morning show (SMS), who announced the projection, said a trending of the voting patterns both current and in the past show the ruling party would carry the day.
