Nigeria’s Ambassador to Brazil Vincent Okoedion says several Brazilian companies have begun investing in Nigeria following President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the country in June.
Speaking at the third Annual Lecture/Dinner of the Lex Fora, a forum of judges and lawyers in Abuja over the weekend, Okoedion said the AG Group-Andrade Guttierrez and QG-Queiroz Galvao both with combined net turnover of $20 billion annually, have already invested in Nigeria’s oil and gas, energy and mining sectors.
Speaking on the topic “Harnessing the Gains of the Justice Sector Reforms for attracting Investment and Sustainable Economic Growth in Nigeria,” the ambassador said Nigeria stands to gain from Brazil in key priority areas to maximise its potentials.
Speaking, Yusuf Ali (SAN), who is the Chairman of the anti-corruption committee of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), said Nigeria needs a legal system that protects investors to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
