Zambia: RDA Bosses Replaced

GOVERNMENT has terminated the contracts for Road Development Agency (RDA) executive director, Michael Mulenga and senior manager of Construction and Maintenance, Ronald Nyangu.

Dr Mulenga has been replaced by Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) president, Bernard Chiwala while Mr Nyangu’s position has been taken by Charles Mushota.

This is contained in letters to the four, signed by Works, Supply, Transport and Communications, Permanent Secretary, Major Francis Kamanga.

According to the letters, RDA had failed to procure any budgeted for roads despite having an allocation of K 4.5trillion this year.

Major Kamanga said there was great concern that projects had so far not taken off even when the country would be having a new budget in October, this year.

When contacted for a comment, Dr Mulenga refused to comment.

“I cannot comment anything on the phone for now, thank you,” Dr Mulenga said.
