Drogba & Torres on Chelsea’s bench for Napoli clash

Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas has chosen a starting line-up without striking duo Fernando Torres or Didier Drogba for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Napoli, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims.

The Italian newspaper had access to a sheet of paper which Villas-Boas left at the Hotel Vesuvio, in Naples, which contains the Blues’ tactics for the match at the San Paolo.

The Portuguese coach will deploy a 4-3-3 system, with the biggest surprise coming in the shape of neither Didier Drogba, nor Fernando Torres, making the starting line-up.

Gary Cahill and John Terry will form the centre-back pairing, while Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole will play as full-backs.

The midfield trio will consist of Michael Essien, Raul Meireles and Frank Lampard, while Juan Mata and Ramires will play on the wings, with Daniel Sturridge being deployed in the centre, as the team’s most attacking-minded player.
