Mills Has Failed, Does Not Deserve A Second Term – Amakye

A political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kwesi Amakye has told Citi News that he will be surprised if Ghanaians re-elect president Mills for a second term considering what he describes as the Mills administration’s utter failure.

Mr. Amakye said President Mills has totally failed Ghanaians in tackling corruption and does not deserve a second term in office.

He cited the raging Woyome saga and the allegations of corruption against former Sports Minister, Muntaka Mubarak to buttress his point.

He also said the President’s inability to curb the politics of insult is indicative he doesn’t merit another four year mandate.

According to Mr. Amakye, Ghanaians will be better off going for NPP flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo if he proves to be a credible alternative.

“I will have great difficulty if people go ahead and vote for President Mills, if the only alternative is Nana Addo then that should be it”.

Meanwhile, an aide to President Mills, Stan Dogbe has told Citi News that Mr. Amakye’s analysis cannot be taken seriously because it smacks of propaganda.

“For anybody to say that the President did not tackle that matter [Muntaka case] is clearly engaging in parochial NPP politics and not a serious political analysis by an academician.

Stan Dogbe added that the only credible organization that can investigate the Woyome saga is the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

“He should read the EOCO act and know the mandate of the EOCO and their investigative abilities and then come back and tell us which other institution in this country is better off investigating this matter than the EOCO”.
