Recent Glasgow Rangers signing Sone Aluko was on target in a 3-0 home win over Motherwell Monday as they stayed within touching distance of leaders Celtic in the Scottish top flight.
Still smarting from a 1-0 loss to Glasgow rivals Celtic on Wednesday, Rangers fought back to win with goals from David Healy, Aluko and an own-goal by Stephen Craigan.
Nigeria Olympic international Aluko, who was banned for two matches for diving, slotted home in the 55th minute off a fine pass by Steven Davies.
Aluko, who has also featured for the Super Eagles as well as the Nigeria U20s, recently joined Rangers as a free agent after a compensation was paid out to his last club Aberdeen.
Champions Rangers have now recorded 51 points from 22 matches, two points behind Celtic.
Their next league game is on January 14 away at Saint Johnstone.
