Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that he is ready to start fresh with wantaway striker Carlos Tevez but has opened the door for Craig Bellamy and Emmanuel Adebayor to leave.
The Argentine put in a transfer request at the beginning of the summer but has been unable to iron out a deal with former club Corinthians, while Inter reportedly remain interested in taking the forward to Italy.
City comfortably beat the Nerazzurri 3-0 to win the Dublin Super Cup on Sunday and in his post-match press conference Mancini told reporters: “When Carlos comes back to training on Thursday we will have four strikers fighting for shirts.
“That’s good for us. When you are playing in four competitions, we need that competition, we need those players.”
The Italian added he is keen to trim his squad to a more manageable level, while Welshman Bellamy was not part of the squad that travelled to Dublin, with Celtic showing a lot of interest in him.
Mancini added: “It is possible that there have been conversations about Craig Bellamy between us and Celtic.
“He is a good striker and needs to be playing. Celtic are a good team. I would let him go on loan because Craig deserves to play and he deserved to play for a good team. If they want him, sure.”
Emmanuela Adebayor has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, after spending time there on loan last season, and Mancini appears ready to pave the way for the Togo striker to leave.
“Manu is in Carrington. He wants to go to Real Madrid and if they want to take him, they can. We have four top strikers and it is really difficult,” he added.
“Manu is a good striker. We can’t carry six strikers. He needs to play and I would be happy for him to go back to Real Madrid.
