Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is set to be sidelined for two weeks after suffering concussion during training.
The Mexican forward spent Wednesday night in his hotel room after being released from hospital 24 hours earlier.
Although the club’s medical staff confirmed the 23-year-old has not sustained any serious injury, boss Sir Alex Ferguson has said the forward will not play over the next fortnight but will continue to train and will remain on the Red Devils’ pre-season tour.
Speaking to reporters, Sir Alex said: “He got concussion in training and we dealt with that. We took him to hospital, he had a scan, it was all clear.
“He is back in the hotel. He is in his room and will be out for a couple of weeks.
“He would never have been available for Barcelona anyway because he has just come back from his break after the Gold Cup. He will travel with us though. He is okay for that.”
