Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is demanding his players move closer to Birmingham.
Former boss Gerrard Houllier fell out with several top stars, including Richard Dunne and Stephen Warnock, because they refused to relocate.
Although McLeish plans to take a softer line on the issue he still backs the club’s policy players must live nearer the Bodymoor Heath training ground.
He said: “There are four or five players involved. I am asking them to move to Birmingham and I want evidence they are making genuine efforts to do so.
“I do understand concerns about families moving, but there’s nothing to stop individuals renting a flat or sharing with one of the other lads.”
