Man City Boss Mancini Hoping For New Contract Talks

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is eyeing a new contract.

Mancini is eager to discuss new terms with the City hierarchy.

Mancini, who has two years left on the three-and-a-half-year deal he signed when replacing Mark Hughes in December 2009, said: “I haven’t spoken to the club about a new contract but if they are happy with me this season then I am sure we will talk.

“I like this job and I would like to stay longer than two more years. I have a good feeling with the squad and the owner, and I like being in Manchester.

“I am working to make Manchester City the No.1 club. I want us to win the Premier League and the Champions League.

“This is our first season in the Champions League, but why can’t we win it?

“Nottingham Forest were the champions of Europe and also Aston Villa, so a club like Manchester City can do it too.

“I would like to do what Arsene Wenger has done at Arsenal by staying a long time and building the club.

“But it is all about keeping the owners happy and to do that I have to win trophies.”
