MTN, the country’s leading Telecommunications Company, is eager to extend its Peace Cup sponsorship to 2012.
The company’s chief Marketing Officer Yvonne Makolo said: “We have started talks with Ferwafa and we will communicate the outcome in the near future.”
“From 2008 to 2010, MTN splashed Rwf50m in the tournament before slashing it to Rwf25m this year.
In a related development, Ferwafa’s CEO Jules Kalisa revealed that there would be more sponsors for next season’s Primus league.
“We are in negotiations with other companies who are interested in co-sponsoring the league,” Kalisa said.
