The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has intercepted cloned drugs valued over N20m in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The Deputy Zonal Director of NAFDAC, Mr. Benson Kine, told reporters at the scene of the seizure on Tuesday, that the agency acted on a tip-off.

The drugs were intercepted at the Household and Utensil Market. They included Fulcin 500mg, Clofenac SR, Astymin, Amoksiklav and Alaxin.

Kine said an informant had called NAFDAC zonal office and informed it of the cloned drugs, which were packed in a warehouse, some distance from the Onitsha Drug market.

He said the informant also gave them the phone number of the suspect, adding that they lured the suspect to the zonal office from where he took the NAFDAC officials to the warehouse.
