29 June 2011 The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority said on Monday it was targeting to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting the country annually from 20 000 to 50 000 by 2015. About 52 million Chinese people visit different countries annually according to the ZTA. This makes China, which has a population of 1,3 billion, the world's third biggest tourist source market after Germany and the United States of America.

Share This Story — The MTN Group has passed 150 million mobile subscribers, showing strong subscriber growth despite increased competition.

Speaking at the firm’s AGM, the group president and CEO, Mr Sifiso Dabengwa announced that subscriber numbers had increased by 7.4 million to 149 million customers for the four months to April 30, 2011. This has subsequently seen the company pass 150 million mobile subscribers across its 21 operations.

Margins in the majority of MTN’s key markets in Africa and the Middle East remained robust, although margin pressure in markets – like Uganda with high levels of price competition was experienced.
