The residents of Entoltol in Narok North District yesterday demonstration against the killing of a local potato farmer by an administration policeman. The body of 17-year-old man Kareithi ole Nkako was found dumped near Wafo Trading Centre, about 50 Kilometres from Narok Town on Wednesday. The more 5,000 protesters paralysed business in the trading centre for more than six hours.
The angry demonstrators torched a pick-up car and businesses premises owned by the AP. Councilors Nkoibon Metian and Koinet Esho accused the police of killing the innocent farmer instead of providing security.
They claim that the officer called the teenager from his house at round 3am. He came out and the policeman shot him dead. “We have watertight evidence that the officer killed the young man as he has been living in fear. They took him from his house shot him several times in the head,”said Nkoiboni.
Nkoiboni said the life of every Kenyan is important and the Internal Security Minister George Saitoti should transfer his officers for the sake of peace and harmony.
