Touray Refuse Adelsohn’s Apology

Gambia and Djurgarden IF skipper Pa Dembo Touray has refused to accept the apology of top Swedish politician and lifelong Djurgarden fan Ulf Adelsohn.

Speaking to Swedish press last week, the former Real de Banjul custodian said an apology isn’t enough and went onto blame Adelsohn for all the problems he is currently facing at the club he called home for the past eleven seasons.

The former Swedish conservative party leader in an interview with the press in April criticized Pa Dembo Touray by saying: “In my opinion we have not had such a bad goalkeeper throughout my lifetime that we have with Pa Dembo” the former Conservative leader and Djurgarden supporter said.

These prompted the fans that enjoyed a remarkable relationship with their skipper to make public calls for him to leave the club for the first time in eleven seasons and Touray opined that had it not been for Adelsohn’s comments, the fans would never dare to ask for his departure.

Adelsohn asked Touray for an apology last week via a text message, but the Gambian international refused to accept it claiming that an apology is not enough for the damage he has already done. “If I am to blame someone, it’s him (Ulf Adelsohn)” Dembo said. “The whole thing started with that Ulf something. He (Adelsohn) was the one who started all these problems. So should I blame anyone, I blame him.

“He was the reason that the fans dare to say those things to me. He was the reason. So no, I certainly think that it was not enough (an apology). I have given this club half of my career, but he can sit there – and destroy everything in one day. It is not acceptable” Touray added.

Pa Dembo’s current contract with Djurgarden will expire at the end of the 2011 Swedish Allsvenskan season and everything suggests that he will leave the club but when asked where his immediate future lies, Touray responded: “I don’t know, someone else might.”
