A woman accused of sending threatening messages to a former boyfriend yesterday rejected a prosecution’s bid to drop the charge. Margaret Muthoni Mburu was charged at a Murang’a court that she sent threatening messages using a mobile phone.

The threatening messages were allegedly sent to Mr Sammy Kitonyi Mulwa, an employee of Kengen on November 16, last year. Prosecuting, police Chief Inspector Alphonse Juma had relied on a section of the criminal procedure code in his bid to have the accused released but can be rearrested.

Printouts indicated that the messages were sent from Matuu in Eastern Kenya whose SIM card had not been registered. Senior Resident Magistrate Elizabeth Osoro told the police to complete investigations so the cas can continue.
