Bosaso — The police forces of Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Puntland on Thursday arrested suspected people who were charged with killing.
Said Jama Harun, a Puntland police officer, told the local press that arrested ones were accused of being behind the killing of Puntland police officer who was gunned down days ago in Bosaso, Puntland’s commercial hub, about 1500 km north of Mogadishu.
The police officer indicated they had been captured after an extensive security crackdown in some neighborhoods in Bosaso.
Mr. Harun vowed the security forces of Puntland will keep on conducting such operation to assure the security in the region.
In the last few weeks, security in Puntland key town has been precarious as a number of officials, famous elders and peace activists assassinated.
