Tanzania/Nigeria: Oshiomhole Mobilises Dream Team Against Tanzania

In his determined move to reposition football nay sports in the country, Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that Edo will not only be good host of the June 18 London 2012 Olympics qualifier between Nigeria’s Dream Team and Tanzania, but that he would personally lead the mobilization of the team against the East African opposition; Junior Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

Speaking through the State Commissioner For Sports, Iziegbe Anita Evbuomwan, Oshiomhole, assured that all modalities needed for the encounter have been put in place to ensure an excellent encounter, which he said will be nothing but total victory for Nigeria.

Hear Evbuomwan, who is heading the LOC for the encounter “you know the governor, has a lot of tricks up his sleeves and it includes new dance steps, mobilizing the who-is-who in Nigeria and Edo for the encounter and generally making sure that the team score plenty of goals, that will again be seen in the June 18 encounter”.

“Even, the June 25th encounter against the Ghanaian U23 team has already been planned for by the Governor, because he’s a meticulous man, always ahead of his peers.”

The U23 team arrived Benin City on Wednesday and are camped at the just completed 5-star hotel; dubbed Prestige hotel, just about 100metres from the Benin Airport with world class security provided. The Commissioner through her spokesperson, Precious Igbonwenlundu, revealed that the team will be the first guests of the hotel and she was sure that all will be well as Benin City hopes to fast-track the U23 side to both the Olympic Games in London next year and the All Africa Games later this year in Maputo, Mozambique.

Oshiomhole, we further gathered has already approved that the team remains in the hotel between June 8-26, for proper preparation for both encounters, which will both take place at the new look Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the Edo State capital.

The Governor was further quoted as saying; “Edo has been hosting the team and they have been scoring big, against Tanzania and Ghana, the margin of goals will even be more.”

In his observasion, Edo FA Chairman, Chief Abel Ehigie, said he was simply overwhelemed by the support the Governor has offerd the FA in ensuring a good game against Tanzania and later Ghana.
