Over 50 students of Presentation of Mary Basic Cycle School in Brikama, Thursday visited the Observer Company, publisher of the Daily Observer Newspaper. The pupils were accompanied to the Observer Complex by their teachers. The visit was meant to boost the confidence of the students to take up journalism as a profession as well as get firsthand information on how the newspaper is produced.

Speaking to our reporters shortly after a conducted tour of the offices, Lord Yeboah, a teacher at the school who also coordinated the visit, explained that the purpose of their visit was to get the firsthand information about the company and also to familiarise themselves with the proceedings of the work and how the company operates and publishes its daily newspaper, among other things.

He noted that lessons are not only taught in class but it is always good to go out to see and practice what people are doing out in the surrounding environment. Fatoumatta Jabbi, one of the visiting pupils, said they have learnt a lot from all the units they visited in the Observer Company, adding that the visit gave her the opportunity to learn more about newspaper production.

She advised her colleagues to take their education seriously so that they can achieve their goals in future. She finally thanked the Observer staff for their generosity and prayed that the company continues to serve the people in this country and beyond. Paulette Gomez and Dominic P. Mendy also expressed similar sentiments.
