    Luanda — The National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) speaker, António Paulo Kassoma, left Luanda Wednesday afternoon for southern Huíla province to attend the 29th Plenary Assembly of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Parliamentary Forum whose preparation works started on Monday.

    The SADC Parliamentary Forum was established on September 8, 1997, during the Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government, held in Windhoek, Namibia.

    The meeting is being attended by SADC countries’ MPs to discuss parliamentary cooperation.

    It is also seeking to reinforce the SADC execution capacity through the participation of MPs in the activities of the organisation. It is intended to be a forum for discussion of matters of interest to the member countries and facilitate the implementation of regional policies and projects.

    SADC comprises Angola, South Africa, Botswana, DR Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

    The Angolan Parliament speaker, Antonio Paulo Kassoma, will be attending the Parliamentary Forum Plenary session, together with other MPs.
