Mogadishu — The military leadership of Somali government on Wednesday accused Al shabaab fighters of being an obstacle, saying that they are responsible for protracted closure of Bakaraa, Mogadishu largest and busiest market.

Speaking to the local media, Abdikarim Yusuf Adam, the commander of Somali army said Al shabaab doesn’t want the progress of Bakaara as they made military trenches in it after losing key military bases in the seaside capital Mogadishu.

Mr. Adam reiterated the government is committed to the reopening and protecting the properties in the market.
