Luanda — The Angolan secretary of State for External Relations, Manuel Augusto, participated until Tuesday, in Brussels, Belgium, in the exchange of ideas on the state of negotiations relating to the economic partnership agreement between Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) and European Union.
The leaders of ACP States and EU discussed issues related to migration and progresses in this field, having agreed to reach concrete results for strengthening co-operation in areas of visas and transfer of funds of migrants.
The ACP-AU Council of Ministers decided also to use a flexible procedure with the aim of adopting a decision on the possible request of Southern Sudan to join the partnership agreement, as soon as it becomes an independent state.
The ACP/EU Council of Ministers is the only decision-making body of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement, which was signed in the year 2000, in Cotonou, Benin, and revised in 2010 for the first time.
