The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA) in 2010 registered 37,484 clients of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as against 27,545 in 2009, thus qualifying the Assembly to run its own NHIS Secretariat. Numo Adinortey Addison, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) who made this known at the first ordinary meeting of the first session of the second assembly of the ASHMA said the total revenue for last year stood at GH¢2,757,319.58 out of the budgeted revenue of GH¢4,400,548.97

Kuito — The first secretary of the ruling MPLA party in the central Bié Province on Monday here said that the campaign agricultural credit, being granted to peasants, is an instrument that boosts the implementation of agricultural projects.

Álvaro de Boavida Neto, who was speaking in the closing act of the fourth meeting of the party’s provincial committee of Bie, considered as important the execution of the agricultural campaign micro-credit, for it may bring development to the province in the agricultural area.

He also defended the need for adjustments to be made in fundamental procedures relating to the supply of fertilisers, agricultural seeds, production instruments for former soldiers, so as to boost production in the region.
