Luanda — The National Children’s Institute (INAC) will implement sensitisation actions throughout the month of June, aimed at making society realise that the family is a fundamental element in the defence and promotion of children.
According to a document from the institution, issued in the ambit of the commemorative programme dubbed “June, Children”, the family is the centre of life in society and in it children learn the fundamental values that will guide them in adult life, thus strengthening the foundations of the nation.
It states that the idea is to seize the commemorative period, in the ambit of the International Children’s Day (01 June), to intensify the appeal for society to reflect about the major problems that Angolan children face.
“This exercise will enable to build a system for all the initiatives from public and private organs, civil society and individual citizens, that may have the objective to hold reflective, creative, sports and cultural activities”, reads the note.
To salute the date INAC has programmed lectures on child abuse, to be held in primary schools, meetings with government officials, cultural activities with children, among other activities.
