29 May 2011 Ondjiva — A team of donors from the United Nation's Children Fund (Unicef) is since Sunday in Cunene Province, aimed at inspecting various financial projects by the organisation. The information was given by the institution's press officer in Angola, Olívio Gamboa, to whom the work is about inspecting and assessing the extent of implementation of programmes for the local government, especially in sectors of health and education. The team led by the secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Angola, Ms Reiko Murakami, is made up of staff from USAid and governments of Spain and United States of America

Lubango — The 18-year old student, Isadora Mundjila, Saturday won the 2011 edition of “Miss Lubango”, as part of the cultural programme of the festivities of the 88 years since the foundation of the city, to be marked next Tuesday, May 31.

Isadora Mundjila is attending the grade 12 of high physical and biological sciences of the Friend of Knowledge College, in outskirts of Lubango.

During the gala, held at the Tourist Complex of Senhora do Monte, Liudmila Jose and Soraya Rodriguez were nominated for the first and second ladies of honour.

The new municipal ambassador replaces Sicandra Diego and won USD 3,000 award, while the second and first ladies received USD 1,700 and USD 300 respectively, and offered accounting and basic computer courses.
