The governor of the Central River Region (CRR) has extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Gambian leader, for his recent donation of 140 tractors to various personalities, regions and institutions across the country.

Speaking to the Daily Observer, Alhaji Ganiye Touray also thanked His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh on behalf of his region, for the benevolent gesture that was also extended to the security services.

“We recognise the fact that these tractors are geared towards promoting mechanized farming in the country and the attainment of food self-sufficiency as it is President Jammeh’s passion to boost agricultural development in the country,” he said.

Governor Touray went on to describe President Jammeh’s leadership in the country as symbolic and further reassured him of his dedication to supporting and complementing his efforts in nation building and for the continued success of the government under his leadership.

“As far as I am concerned, there is no credible opposition in the country and President Jammeh will have a landslide victory in the upcoming Presidential Election slated for November 24th, 2011,” he predicted.
