PSV’s sporting director Marcel Brands has claimed that Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes wants to return to his former club.
Gomes experienced a rocky end to the season at White Hart Lane and despite Harry Redknapp’s reassurances that he remains the club’s No.1, the Brazilian has been linked with a summer exit.
“He has let me know he is interested in a return to PSV,” Brands told Voetbal International.
“I have let him know I will look at what we can do for each other.
“His contract only has one year left to run. There is not much more to say at the moment.”
The 30-year-old spent four years at PSV before joining Spurs in 2008, but recent costly blunders against Real Madrid and Chelsea have seen his place come under scrutiny.
Tottenham have been linked with Birmingham goalkeeper Ben Foster as well as Aston Villa’s Brad Friedel.
